This FAG U3-series thrust ball bearing seating washer is for use with FAG 533- and 543-series axial deep-groove ball bearings that come with spherical housing locating washers. The seating washer, also called a support washer, is used with the spherical housing washer to compensate for initial static angular misalignments between the support surfaces on the shaft and those in the housing. The washer is made of a low alloy, through-hardened chromium steel for durability, heat tolerance, and resistance to deformity under heavy loads, and it can be used at operating temperatures from -30 degrees C to 150 C (-22 degrees F to 302 F). This seating washer is manufactured to PN (normal) tolerances in accordance with Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) 620, and it is suitable for use in various applications including machine tool drive shafts, automotive steering gears and clutches, rotary tables, outboard motor propellers, and household appliances.
